Les sanctions décrétées par la Cédéao à l’encontre de la junte malienne provoquent des remous politiques en Côte d’Ivoire. Quelques heures après l’annonce de cet embargo, après avoir protesté et rappelé ses ambassadeurs dans la région, le Mali a libéré un ancien député soroïste dont l’extradition était demandée par la justice ivoirienne. Par ailleurs, le Parti de Laurent Gbagbo est monté au créneau pour dénoncer ces sanctions.
Le nouveau parti panafricaniste de Laurent Gbagbo « trouve excessives et impertinentes les mesures de rétorsions prises par la Cédéao contre le peuple malien ». Dans un communiqué signé de son porte-parole Justin Koné Katinan, le PPA-CI qualifie aussi « d’inacceptable et dangereuse » ce qu’il considère comme « l’instrumentalisation des institutions financières et bancaires communautaires pour régler des questions politiques internes ».
Signe que les rapports se sont tendus dimanche soir entre le Mali et ses voisins, la junte a rappelé ses ambassadeurs dans la région. Et lundi à Bamako, un ex-député ivoirien pro-Soro, Sess Soukou Mohamed, plus connu sous son surnom Ben Souk a été soudainement libéré, à la veille d’une audience chez un juge.
Ben Souk avait été arrêté le 10 août et son extradition demandée par la Côte d’Ivoire. Ben Souk a par ailleurs été condamné à 20 ans de prison par contumace en juin pour « atteinte à l’autorité de l’État » et « complot ». Affaire qui a valu à Guillaume Soro une condamnation en son absence à la prison à vie.
Guillaume Soro a salué la libération de son compagnon politique dans un communiqué dans lequel « il apporte son soutien et son amitié sincères aux autorités de transition » sans se prononcer toutefois sur les sanctions.
Enfin une autre voix ivoirienne s’est indignée contre la décision de la Cédéao. Celle d’ Alpha Blondy qui a incité les chefs d’État de la région à « réviser leur copie ». « Le peuple malien ne mérite pas ça » a plaidé dans une vidéo la star du reggae.
